welcoming good vibes

i'm obsessed with dreamcatchers.

i love how they look,
and i adore what they represent.

a dreamcatcher filters out the negative,
and attracts the positive.

and lets be honest,
who doesn't want to their home to be filled with good vibes?

so i decided to make my very own dreamcatcher...
with a new modern twist.

i call it a dreamcatcher mobile.

and i love it.

mine hangs in my living room,
but i can only imagine how adorable it would be hanging over a crib!

here's what you'll need:
 1. feathers.
i stuck with neutral tones for my dream catcher,
but feel free to go bright!

2. string.
i wanted fun, playful textures with a bit of traditional material so i used
a wool yarn, a feathery yarn, and white leather string.

3. embroidery hoops.
only use the inside hoop!

[not pictured- hot glue gun + hot glue]

now for the fun part...
making your dreamcatcher!

1. cut your string.
i cut my string about 2 feet long originally,
but ended up cutting them different lengths to give dimension.

2. glue and wrap.
add hot glue to the hoop,
and wrap the string around it.
[alternate the string so the hoop isn't covered in one type of string.]

3. hang string.
glue your cut pieces of string to the hoop,
alternating between which string you use.
[cut the hanging string different lengths.]

4. add feathers.
add hot glue to the end of your feather,
and wrap the string around it.

5. hang your dreamcatcher.
i used the same leather string and attached it at 3 points on the hoop with hot glue.
connecting them with a knot,
then braiding them together.
[hung from the ceiling with a hook]

 and that's it!

super simple,
quick,
and easy!
say hello to the good vibes!

k byeee!
