mini top knot

you're lying if you say you don't love a good top knot.

it's cute,

messy,

and perfectly imperfect.

it's the best way to look like you're trying...

without actually trying.

but you just look absolutely effortlessly effortless.

but for us short haired gals,

we cry ourselves to sleep because our hair won't fit into that perfectly imperfect top knot.

well...

good news.

its called-

the mini top knot.

 yeah, yeah,

it's nothing new.

but i'd like to think i've got it down to a sciene.

and i'm here to share some tips and tricks to getting a cute "do".

without "doing" too much.

wink.

 

1. let your hair air dry.

[it gives it more texture. which adds to that messy look.]

if you're hair needs a little extra boost of texture- use a beach spray while hair is damp.

2. once dry,

add in a texture spray for added messiness and volume.

3. pull up the pieces of your hair you want in the top knot.

[be sure to not brush through your hair while pulling it back.]

you want your hair to look piecey and messy...

not overly polished.

4. twist the collected pieces of hair and begin to form a bun.

 5. take bobby pins and securely insert them in and around the bun.

6. if you want your top knot to look even messier,
add more texture spray and/or beach spray.

 

   i originally started sporting this mini top knot because of my short hair,

but this hairstyle is equally as cute on girls with longer hair.
